Past conferences

FINMUN 2010 was the 5th university-level international Model United Nations conference in Finland. It was held in Helsinki, on April 12 - 17, 2010.

Scenario

The theme of FINMUN 2010 was North Korea.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has publicly indicated that they are about to conduct a major nuclear weapons test. The specific of the test are as of yet unknown, but international experts expect to see a development from the October 2006 and May 2009 tests. The Security Council will certainly move to condemn these actions and act against them. Hopefully that is all they will be called upon to do...

While the Security Council ponders suitable political measures to counter the North Korean belligerence, a panel of humanitarian experts has been called to advise the Council on how to minimize the consequences of their actions on the civilian population through smart sanctions.

Price

The non-refundable delegate fee for FINMUN 2010 was 100 euros for non-members, and 90 euros for FinMUN members. The price included all the official and social program as well as all meals.
