Building peace for Kashmir in FINMUN 2008
FINMUN 2010 will bring together students of different nationalities to debate, discuss and have fun. The conference week will include teambuilding, lectures, cultural events and excursions. The week will highlight in a three-day simulation. The committees and the scenarios will be announced later on. During the FINMUN conference, students from all over the world are given an opportunity to develop their diplomatic skills, learn about the United Nations, Finland and global politics and to make friends with people from a number of different countries and cultures.
Scenario
The theme of FINMUN 2010 will be North Korea.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has publicly indicated that they are about to conduct a major nuclear weapons test. The specific of the test are as of yet unknown, but international experts expect to see a development from the October 2006 and May 2009 tests. The Security Council will certainly move to condemn these actions and act against them. Hopefully that is all they will be called upon to do...
While the Security Council ponders suitable political measures to counter the North Korean belligerence, a panel of humanitarian experts has been called to advise the Council on how to minimize the consequences of their actions on the civilian population through smart sanctions.
